Since our inception, we have had an impact on the Birmingham music scene and have been regularly performing at various venues such as The Devonshire Arms, The Litten Tree as well as often performing for functions for groups within Birmingham University. Upon our return to the United Kingdom, following the positive critical reception received in Spain, we decided to officially form a band and thus The Birmingham Acoustic Band were born.
However, the collaboration really began in early 2015 in Madrid, Spain where we came together for several ensemble performances as part of our music studies abroad. Originally, we all met each other through our university course in 2012.
We perform and busk regularly around Birmingham so if you see us around, don't hesitate to say hello! We get the crowd up on their feet and feeling good taking inspiration from bands such as 'Earth, Wind and Fire' and 'The Jackson Five'. If you're expecting a Mumford and Sons imitation, you're in for a big surprise. Our unconventional ensemble of instruments (including ukulele and accordion) combine to create a unique folk/soul sound.
